South Caucasus Railway Launches Seasonal Routes to Batumi and Sevan

Yerevan, June 3 – The South Caucasus Railway (SCR) is set to launch seasonal international passenger transportation on the Yerevan-Tbilisi-Batumi-Yerevan route starting June 14. This initiative aims to provide convenient travel options for passengers during the summer season.

Yerevan-Tbilisi-Batumi Route: Modern Comfort and Online Ticketing

According to SCR, the transportation will be carried out by the “Armenia” branded train, which features modern and comfortable carriages designed for long-distance journeys. The train will operate every other day until October 1. Tickets can be purchased at ticket offices in Armenia and Georgia, as well as online. The company has introduced a more modern and efficient online ticket purchasing system, which is currently operating in test mode but already allows for the purchase of “Armenia” train tickets.

Yerevan-Sevan-Shorzha Route: Weekend Escapes

In addition to the international route, the Yerevan-Sevan-Shorzha-Yerevan route will commence on June 12. This electric train service will operate on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays. The train will depart from Yerevan at 8:30 AM, with the return journey from Shorzha station scheduled for 5:00 PM.

Improved Gyumri-Yerevan Service

For the convenience of passengers traveling on the Gyumri-Yerevan No. 101 express train, the electric train from Gyumri station will now depart at 7:40 PM instead of the previous 5:55 PM, starting June 12. This adjustment allows visitors to Gyumri to spend more time in the city before returning to Yerevan.

Enhancing Passenger Experience

These seasonal routes and schedule adjustments are part of SCR’s ongoing efforts to enhance passenger experience and promote domestic and international tourism. The introduction of modern carriages and an improved online ticketing system reflects the company’s commitment to providing high-quality services.

Impact on Tourism

The launch of these routes is expected to significantly boost tourism in Armenia and Georgia, particularly to popular destinations like Batumi and Sevan. By offering comfortable and accessible train travel, SCR aims to attract more local and international travelers to explore the region’s natural beauty and cultural attractions.

The “Armenia” branded train, known for its amenities, will ensure a pleasant journey for passengers, making it an attractive option for summer vacations. The online ticketing system further simplifies the booking process, making travel more convenient for everyone.

SCR continues to monitor passenger feedback and operational efficiency to ensure the highest standards of service for all its routes.
