Vandalized Memorial Stone Restored by Family and Comrades
Gegharkunik Province, June 21 – A memorial stone erected in memory of a fallen soldier, which was recently vandalized, has been fully restored by his family and fellow soldiers. The restoration took place today, June 21, as reported by shamshyan.com.
The memorial stone was established at the site of a tragic military truck accident that occurred years ago, on April 17, 2015, in the Spitak turns of Lori Province. The military vehicle, transporting soldiers, fell into a gorge. As a result, one person died, and a significant number of soldiers were injured. Some received medical assistance on the spot and refused hospitalization, while others were transported to the “Spitak” Medical Center and subsequently to a military hospital.
Following the incident, the fallen soldier’s comrades installed the memorial stone and flowerpots in his name at the accident site. They frequently visited the memorial to pay their respects and lay flowers. The memorial was vandalized on June 19, prompting the swift response from the community to restore it.
