YEREVAN, September 18 – The Food Safety Inspectorate (FSI) has initiated immediate control measures following a widely circulated video alleging the use of an insecticide on fruits in a Yerevan store. The incident, which gained significant public attention, prompted a rapid response from the FSI’s Rapid Response Department.
The video, shared across social media platforms, shows a citizen claiming to have witnessed an employee at a fruit and vegetable store located at Saryan Street 33/4 in Yerevan, spraying a substance identified as ‘Dichlorvos’ insecticide on fruits intended for sale. This claim spurred the FSI to take swift action to investigate the veracity of the allegations and ensure public safety.
Urgent Control Measures and Laboratory Analysis Underway
Upon receiving the report and reviewing the video, the FSI dispatched its Rapid Response Department to the specified location. During the on-site inspection, samples of the affected fruits were collected.
