Yerevan, September 26 – The ‘Strong Armenia’ party has announced that transport will be provided to the settlement of Tigranashen in the Ararat region. The party stated on its Facebook page that it was their efforts that compelled the authorities to make this decision.
Parliamentary Bonuses Redirected to Tigranashen
Days prior, Tigran Abrahamyan, secretary of the ‘Strong Armenia’ parliamentary faction, declared that the faction’s deputies had decided to allocate their Independence Day bonuses to implement several projects in Tigranashen. These initiatives included launching a farmers’ market, constructing a new playground, and acquiring a bus for transporting children to school and the regional center.
According to the deputies, it was only after their announcement that the authorities decided to allocate transport to Tigranashen, suggesting a direct link between their actions and the government’s decision.
Developing Tigranashen and Preventing its Handover
Earlier, the head of the faction, Narek Karapetyan, had stated their intention to carry out various projects in Tigranashen to develop it into a tourist center. He emphasized that they would not allow Tigranashen to be handed over to Azerbaijan. On September 21, Independence Day, the faction’s deputies had also conducted tree planting in Tigranashen.
Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan had previously spoken in the National Assembly about the Armenian village of Tigranashen in the Ararat region. He stated that the issues of enclaves and exclaves had not yet been discussed in detail with the Azerbaijani side, but that they should be resolved through the logic of peace, not conflict. This implies acting in the interests of the residents of both republics without creating additional complications for them. Pashinyan had declared that according to the demarcation principle agreed upon by Yerevan and Baku, Artsvashen is Armenian territory, while Kyarki (Tigranashen), Barkhudarlu, and Yukhari Askipara are not.
