Following a historic debut in Florida, the Armenian pickleball team is now preparing for the 2026 World Cup, which will take place in Da Nang, Vietnam. This marks a new chapter for Armenian sports, as the team aims to build on its initial success and represent the nation with pride.

A Historic Debut and Valuable Experience

The National Pickleball Association of Armenia (NPAA) reported that the team’s debut in Florida was a significant and proud moment for Armenian sports. Despite being a young team from a country where pickleball is still developing, Armenia secured the 33rd position among 68 participating nations. This achievement demonstrated the team’s substantial potential, passion, and drive to compete at an international level.

The experience gained at the World Cup in Florida provided Armenian players with invaluable knowledge, new connections, and confidence for future growth. Upon returning home, the team intensified its preparation, conducting regular training sessions, developing team play, and refining individual skills. This rigorous preparation is expected to yield even better results in the upcoming tournament.

The Road to Vietnam: A Story of Development and Dedication

With greater experience and more serious preparation, the Armenian team is ready to open a new page in its history in Vietnam. The NPAA emphasized that “the road to Vietnam is more than just participation in a tournament. It is a story of the development of a new sport, the result of the hard work of Armenian players, and a belief that Armenia can achieve great success in the international sports arena.”

Mihrtad Ghazazyan, President of the National Pickleball Association of Armenia, and Alexander Andranikyan, team captain, highlighted that the World Cup in Vietnam is a new opportunity to demonstrate the spirit, character, and dedication of Armenian athletes to the world. “Our goal is to continue to improve and proudly represent our country,” they stated.

NPAA’s Mission: Promoting Pickleball in Armenia

The National Pickleball Association of Armenia is dedicated to the development and popularization of pickleball in Armenia. Its mission includes creating new opportunities for players of all ages, fostering the growth of youth sports, and representing Armenia in the international sports arena. The association’s efforts are crucial in establishing pickleball as a recognized and competitive sport within the country and globally.

The upcoming 2026 World Cup in Vietnam is anticipated to be a pivotal moment for the Armenian pickleball team, showcasing their progress and commitment to excellence.
