Brawl at Yerevan City Supermarket: Baker’s Husband and Colleague Involved, One Injured

Yerevan, May 21 – An emergency incident took place in Yerevan on May 19. At approximately 8:45 PM, the Shengavit Police Department of the Armenian Ministry of Internal Affairs received an operational report that a woman had been transported to the Erebuni Medical Center by ambulance with a concussion, diagnosed after falling at the “Yerevan City” supermarket on Bagratunyats Avenue. Police Investigation Reveals Details of the Altercation

According to photojournalist Gagik Shamshyan, an operational group from the Shengavit Police Department, led by a community police officer, arrived at the hospital. There, it was identified that the injured person was 43-year-old Hayarpi Sh., a resident of Yerevan.

G. Shamshyan’s information indicates that as a result of measures taken by community police officers, it was clarified that on May 18, at approximately 8:00 AM, at the “Yerevan City” supermarket located at 5/1 Bagratunyats Avenue, an argument arose between Hayarpi Sh.’s husband, 48-year-old Artyom H., a resident of Yerevan, and a certain Hovo, who also works at the same location, over work-related issues. During the dispute, they exchanged blows. While Hayarpi Sh. approached her husband, Hovo struck her once with his hand, causing her to fall to the ground and suffer physical pain.

Identification of the Suspect and Ongoing Search

According to the photojournalist’s information, as a result of operational investigative measures undertaken by employees of the Shengavit Police Department, it was revealed that the individual referred to as Hovo is 54-year-old Hovhannes M., a resident of Aragatsotn Province. Measures are currently being taken to locate him.

Official Proceedings and Employment Details

Documents regarding the incident have been compiled at the Shengavit Police Department and transferred to the Shengavit Administrative District Investigative Department of the Investigative Committee of the Republic of Armenia’s Yerevan City Investigative Department.

G. Shamshyan’s information also states that Hayarpi Sh. and Hovhannes M. both work as bakers at the aforementioned supermarket.

Note: A suspect or an accused person is presumed innocent until proven guilty in accordance with the procedure established by the Criminal Procedure Code of the Republic of Armenia by a court verdict that has entered into legal force.
