Moscow, July 12, 2026 – Direct bus routes from the Krasnogvardeysky international bus station to Yerevan, the capital of Armenia, have been launched. This was announced by Moscow’s Deputy Mayor Maxim Liksutov, expanding the city’s intercity and international transport options.

Expanding International Connectivity

Liksutov stated that Moscow’s bus stations now offer over 170 intercity and international routes. The Krasnogvardeysky station, located in the southern part of the capital, serves as a key transport hub for popular destinations. The addition of Yerevan as a direct route further enhances connectivity between Russia and Armenia.

“Today, more than 170 intercity and international routes are available from Moscow’s bus stations. Krasnogvardeysky is one of the key transport hubs in the south of the capital, from where passengers can travel to popular destinations. Now it is possible to reach the capital of Armenia from the Krasnogvardeysky international bus station,” Liksutov commented.

Weekly Departures and Online Booking

Buses to Yerevan will operate once a week, departing every Thursday. This regular service aims to provide a convenient and accessible travel option for passengers.

Tickets for these new routes can be purchased online through the “Intercity Buses” section of the “Moscow Metro” (Метро Москвы) mobile application. This digital booking system is designed to streamline the purchasing process for travelers.

Broader Context of Regional Transport

This development comes amidst ongoing discussions and actions regarding regional transportation and economic ties. Recent reports indicate that 7 wagons loaded with wheat are being sent from Russia to Armenia via Azerbaijan, and 40,000 tons of cargo have already been transported to Armenia through Azerbaijan. Furthermore, Azerbaijan itself has started supplying oil products to Armenia, highlighting a complex and evolving transport landscape in the region.

These new direct bus routes are expected to further strengthen the transport links and facilitate travel between Russia and Armenia, catering to both business and leisure travelers.
