The operation resulted in the arrest of two men, with preliminary investigations indicating a widespread network of illegal drug acquisition, storage, and distribution.
The investigation began when police received credible intelligence that a 36-year-old resident of Ghandilyan Street in Gyumri was illegally acquiring, storing, and distributing narcotics. Further intelligence gathered during subsequent operations revealed that his uncle and a friend were also involved, allegedly storing large quantities of drugs in their respective properties in Vahramaberd village and on Ghandilyan Street.
Criminal Proceedings Initiated and Raids Conducted
Following these revelations, criminal proceedings were initiated by the Shirak Provincial Investigative Department. A series of coordinated raids were conducted on September 28, targeting the residences of the suspects.
During a search of the 57-year-old uncle’s property in Vahramaberd village, law enforcement discovered over 50 grams of marijuana, various drug-making paraphernalia, and 17 cannabis plants. Simultaneously, at the home of the 48-year-old friend, officers found packages containing a total of 93 grams of marijuana, along with over 200 grams of marijuana stored in plastic containers.

Additionally, in a shed located behind the building, approximately 200 grams of marijuana, cannabis seeds, and droppers were discovered.
The 36-year-old man and his uncle have been arrested in connection with the drug operation. The preliminary investigation is ongoing, as authorities work to uncover the full extent of the family’s alleged involvement in the illegal drug trade.
This significant drug bust underscores the ongoing efforts of Armenian law enforcement to combat drug-related crime and protect communities from the illicit distribution of narcotics. Further details are expected to be released as the investigation progresses.
