Man Hospitalized with Eye Injury in Yerevan; Suspect Detained

Yerevan, June 14 – A 30-year-old man was hospitalized on May 27 with a penetrating and bleeding wound to his right eye, an incident that prompted an immediate police investigation. The victim, identified as Grigor P., a resident of Yerevan, was admitted to the “Armenia” Medical Center.

The incident occurred in Yerevan, with an operational report received by the Mashtots Department of the Police of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Armenia around 3:40 PM on May 27. The report detailed the hospitalization of a citizen with a severe eye injury.

Investigation Leads to Detention

Following the report, officers from the Mashtots Department initiated measures to identify the perpetrator. Their efforts led to the identification of a 37-year-old Yerevan resident, Gevorg P., as the suspect in the case. He was apprehended and taken to the Mashtots Police Department on the same day.

Documents related to the incident have been compiled by the Mashtots Police Department and subsequently transferred to the Investigative Department of Yerevan City of the Investigative Committee of the Republic of Armenia, specifically to the Ajapnyak and Davitashen administrative districts’ investigative division, for further proceedings.

The investigation is ongoing, and authorities have yet to release further details regarding the circumstances surrounding the incident or the motive behind the attack. The condition of the injured man has not been updated since his admission to the hospital.
