Gyumri, Armenia – On Friday, June 12, 2026, the 102nd Russian Military Base in Gyumri, Shirak Province, Armenia, hosted a series of solemn events dedicated to the celebration of Russia Day. The festivities saw the participation of Igor Titov, the Consul General of Russia in Gyumri, who addressed the military personnel.

Consul General Titov’s Address to Servicemen

According to the press service of the Russian Consulate General in Gyumri, Consul General Titov extended his congratulations to the servicemen on the occasion of the holiday. He wished them success in their combat training and strong family support. In his speech, Titov underscored the significance of the day for the military personnel.

“This is largely your holiday – the holiday of the Motherland, the holiday of the defenders of our Russia. Without you, without your dedication, without your experience and military work, we cannot imagine an independent, united Russia. It is you, the commanders and rank-and-file soldiers, who are responsible for maintaining the security of our country, for maintaining geopolitical stability in the world. It depends on us what our common Motherland will be like tomorrow. Therefore, each of us, in our respective positions, must work for the benefit of Russia and protect its interests,” stated Consul General Titov.

Highlights of the Celebration

The celebration included a military parade, a wreath-laying ceremony at the monument to fallen soldiers, and a traditional concert. These events highlighted the importance of Russia Day for the military base and reinforced the strong ties between the servicemen and their homeland.

The 102nd Russian Military Base, a key strategic outpost in the region, regularly participates in joint military exercises and cultural events, fostering cooperation and strengthening relations between Russia and Armenia.

The celebration on June 12 served as a reminder of the historical and ongoing role of the Russian military in ensuring regional stability and security.
